Delays
It was suggested I make a post on the front page so here goes.
Everything is on temporary hold again as I have killed a second computer and I won’t dare try to run photoshop on an eee. Once I get a desktop PC again I should have a few releases pretty much right away, as I’ve been kicking everyone’s butts to get things ready for when I can do QC again.
edit: yes computer ordered. no I’m not coming back to #strays for a while. no we’re not dead ignore anyone who says otherwise.
7/13 edit: For some reason I’m getting wierd behavior on vagabond so it’s temporarily stalled until I can get our other QCer to take care of it. KoT and possibly more coming soon.

Thanks for the update. Patience is one of my few virtues, sadly greatly outnumbered by my vices, and I really do appreciate status reports when the front page has been unchanged for a few weeks.

Well, at least we get to know, that there’s actually some progress, I actually thought, that you guys might have become too busy for new releases/news.
Well, good luck getting a new (or at least well-running) Desktop-PC, so that we all get the next releases, i barely can’t wait for MyBalls17+18.
Log and computers don’t seem to mix well.

I’ve had 1 computer death before but it was with a really old (now a days) Gateway computer on like Windows 98 SE (Pentium 3, 600 MHZ, 128 MB RAM, 20 GB HDD).
Back then, I didn’t watch any fansubs at all, and I was on a 56K internet connnection

I think it’s always better to build a computer rather than buy a package. In the end it’s cheaper plus warantees on all the hardware you buy. Going to a computer shop to get one built is always a good choice, I think.
if someone can beat $500 for a core 2 quad Q6600 with 3gb of 800mhz ram, a 500gb hdd, and vista, feel free to leave me a suggestion.

There already is a computer with 8 SPEs.
It’s the CELL Processor. The same one used in all PS3 consoles.
Now if PC companies started using CELL in their computers…wow.

well I’m extremely glad to have an update. Long as one of those releases is my balls you’ll hear no complaints from me. Now that I know what’s going on I can wait until release day.

1st time here, typically im not a manga fan, but i remember before i found anime planet looking on wikipedia at anime and mangas seeing the name “my Balls” and ofcourse it gained my interest.
On saturday noticed it again and finally realised why i could never find it, it was only in a manga form no anime. So looked for them on sunday and found my way here.
Currently read all 16 chapters and enjoyed it, so im just stopping here to give my thanks for the hard work, and for the imformation that releases are currently delayed. Took my about 3hours to get through them all, like i said not used to manga, but enojyed it none to the less, only problem was by the end of i was feeling pretty horny. SO i leave saying, if thats i cursed life, were do i get one.

I still believe in Strays. The only thing I can do is check the site every day and hope they will release My Balls.

Second that, besides aint nowhere else to get it. Also if you consider on the 29th of june Not_Log was asking about a pc to get, its not been 10 days yet, which some places dont even deliver within that amount of time, and if we assume the strays staff have RL to deal with as well, then its not too unexpected that nothings been released yet.
Since i had already written this i will keep it as i only noticed it when checking something else and now point out this,

Unsure what to make of that other than have to try and wait patiently, not one of my virtues(unsure if i even have any) so will check back in a week or so hopefully that will class as a while xD
Stop making excuses for them - we know it’s all MisterX’s fault. So yeah - kill misterx, get more releases.
How difficult is QC, anyway?
Proof-read the translation and look for things to redraw, right?
While we’re on the subject, how many times does a Vagabond chapter tend to go through the QC stage? I’ve heard of groups putting a chapter or a subtitled episode through QC 3 or 4 times.
QC in the case of vagabond is centering text, in the case of everything else, making sure all the cleans are done and centering text. One person (me) usually does both things but vagabond is showing up blueish in photoshop for some mysterious reason and I don’t feel like screwing with it any more.
Probably an understatement to say this is completely irrelevent but whats your EEE like Not_Log. If possible could you state which of the following i could or couldnt do using one.
*Watch downloaded content, AVI, MP4 and MKV, obviously since its a 7-9inch screen im not asking about the HD versions of stuff.
*Read “my balls” when its released. I would assume if you can watch the video files this is a given.
*Watch streamed video, like Veoh for example.
*Use Microsoft Office/Openoffice to create/edit word documents, spreadsheets, slideshows, and documents you might make in something like Publisher, so leaflets and flyers or something.
I know it can access the internet on a network and check emails etc, and my parents need something light functional but not over the top, mainly for Openoffice/Microsoft Office to access word documents and spreadsheets, and for the odd video clip my dad might get in a email so thats why asked if it can those types of video playback.
Like i said i know its got nothing to do with the topic but you mentioned you had one so hopefully you can help me with that.
Streamed video doesn’t work so well (at least not flash players like niconico) but it can do everything else.
Office/OOO might be a bit of a stretch unless you install them on a flash drive or something, the XP version comes with MS Works preinstalled.
SD MKVs play fine with just cccp, I didn’t try anything xvid but I would assume it works as well.

Well some of the EEE’s come with 20g harddrives now, so that wouldnt be a problem, but i do have a version of OOO on a pendrive, so that also works.
Found a few Netbooks(yes i ment to put Netbooks) that are like XP 80g hdd and the new Atom processors(1.6g &like 90% less power consumption). So might go at weekend to pc world or something and see if i can see what there like, and now knowing the EEE is good enough if i dont like these Netbooks i will get that instead for parents.

Windows Vista sucks.
Go back to using Window XP Professional Service Pack 3. It’s way more stable and has a much much larger compatibility with pretty much all electronics & software available.
It’s not actually a vista problem, it’s a general video problem, the other computer I was using was just so old it didn’t support the display things this new card does.
